Historical Rothschild house goes up for sale

West Lodge built by the famous Rothschild family has gone up for sale for £1.1 million.

Just one of many stunning homes owned by the Rothschild’s in the county, West Lodge was influenced by the work of George Devey, a famous architect known for his work designing country manors for the banking family. 

The picturesque Grade II listed detached house boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms and three reception rooms across 1,736 sq. ft.

The house dates back to 1876 when it used to be part of the Wingrave Manor House, now known as Mount Tabor House estate.

Although a historical home, the current owners have spent time and money renovating the property while retaining some sought-after period features such as the hand-crafted front door with stained glass windows, working fireplaces, vaulted and beamed ceilings with some ornate finishes.
