A COMEDIAN is reportedly being investigated by a second police force following allegations of sexual assault.

Russell Brand, who lives near Henley-on-Thames, is being investigated by Thames Valley Police, according to the BBC.

It states the force said a woman contacted the force two weeks ago with 'new information in relation to reports of harassment and stalking'.

The broadcaster 'understands the woman reported her allegations to Thames Valley Police numerous times between 2018 and 2022 but no further action was taken'.

It added that Mr Brand had also accused the woman of harassment against him in 2017.

The force confirmed it was looking into the new information but 'it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation', the broadcaster states.

A number of allegations have already been reported to the Metropolitan Police, as the force has confirmed.

The allegations against the 48-year-old came to light following a joint investigation by the Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4's Dispatches.

The comedian has previously denied 'very serious criminal allegations' and 'extremely egregious and aggressive attacks' that he said he 'absolutely refutes'.

Thames Valley Police 'are not confirming or denying' the name provided to them - namely Mr Brand

A spokesperson for the force said: “Thames Valley Police in the past two weeks, received new information in relation to harassment and stalking allegations dating back to 2018.

"This information is being investigated; as such it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation.”
