The manager of a popular Bucks pub said he was 'really excited' to welcome visitors back following a six-figure makeover that has 'completely transformed' the venue.

The Marlow Donkey pub on Station Road in Marlow closed its doors at the end of August ahead of undergoing a significant six-figure overhaul, including major changes "both inside and out".

General Manager Andrew Watson said he had been "really excited" to welcome pubgoers back to the venue, which is owned by the Greene King brewing company, on Saturday, September 30, with a grand reopening party complete with live music, fire eaters and magician.

Residents were also given the chance to check out the revamped look of the pub, including an expanded dining area with a redesigned colour scheme and a brand-new taproom and craft beer area.

The beer garden has also been subject to an extensive makeover, with an array of outdoor seating, an upgraded speaker system and a heated pergola and decking area - so guests can enjoy the garden no matter what the weather.

The pub's grand reopening will also create a number of new roles for members of the community, with team member positions continuing to be sourced from the local area.

Mr Watson said: "A lot of work has gone into the refurbishments and the changes have completely transformed the pub; we're proud of the renovation works and it looks fantastic.
