One of the nation’s favourite TV antiques dealers will visit not two, not three, but four Buckinghamshire towns this autumn in search of unwanted treasures.

Simon Schneider, an antiques expert and dealer who regularly appears on the ITV programme Dickinson’s Real Deal and the gameshow Secret Dealers, is heading to Buckinghamshire in November with a mission of finding the county’s most valuable antiquities.

The 68-year-old antique buff will visit The Leonardo Hotel in Milton Keynes on Wednesday, November 22, Old Amersham Market Hall in Amersham on November 23, The Holiday Inn in Aylesbury on November 24 and The Riverside Club in High Wycombe on November 25.

Ahead of his trip, Simon is encouraging residents in Buckinghamshire to dig through their cupboards and attics and bring along any artefacts they suspect could be of interest for one-on-one discussions that could culminate in a hefty windfall for unsuspecting owners.

He has been touring parts of the UK for the past year in response to a rise in the popularity of flogging valuables and is hopeful that his visit to a yet-untapped Buckinghamshire will unearth some “unusual and interesting items”.

The TV dealer said he is particularly hoping to stumble upon pricey gold and silver jewellery as well as any oriental items, due to the strengthening market for Chinese ceramics.

He said: “I love those occasions when I see the surprise on someone’s face when I tell them their broken jewellery or grandmother’s old vase is worth a lot more than they ever imagined.

“It’s impossible to list all the items that I am interested in buying. If you think you have something of interest, bring it along. It costs nothing for me to take a look.”
