DRIVERS have been told to 'avoid the area' after a crash in High Wycombe town centre this lunchtime.
Thames Valley Police were called to Union Parade shortly before noon to reports of a crash.
Two vehicles are involved in the crash. South Central Ambulance Service has been asked for an update.
The A40 road is currently blocked off while emergency services respond to the incident.
Police said: "Therefore we would advise motorists to avoid the area at this time."
The incident has caused traffic mayhem on surrounding roads with queues past Morrisons and Sainsbury’s on West Wycombe Road.

Major traffic queues have also been building in the direction of Hughenden Road and Hamilton Road.
