RUNNERS were raring to pound the streets at the annual Prestwood Fun Run.
Almost 200 competitors pushed themselves on Sunday morning for the 10k run around the village, which started at the sports centre in Honor End Lane.
Liz Rankine, organiser and a founder member of the event which started nine years ago, said: "It went brilliantly. We had a really good turnout. Everyone is always very friendly and runners of all abilities take part and it is a fun day.
"It is a lot of work on the day, and it is an awful lot of running around. So I don't get the chance to do it but I still run every Sunday."
This year the runners from the Chiltern Harriers in Chesham scooped the trophies. Derek Brown, who has won the men's trophy five times, completed the route in 33.44 minutes.
Sally White took the ladies' trophy as she finished in 40.48 minutes.
This year the money raised from the entry fee went to Prestwood Youth and Community Centre, the British Red Cross Centre, Misbourne Venture Scouts and the First Prestwood Guides.
