TWO drivers have suffered life changing injuries after a crash on Monday night. 

The crash happened on the A461 near Great Horwood at around 7.10pm. 

Two men, a 34-year-old from Northamptonshire and a 57-year-old man from Winslow, suffered life-changing injuries and were taken to hospital, where they remain in stable conditions.

Police closed the road at the junctions with Whaddon Road and Nash road whilst they dealt with the incident.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a road traffic collision on the A461 near Great Horwood at 7.10pm.

“A green Vauxhall Mokka and a yellow Mercedes-Benz Sprinter were involved in the head-on collision near Briars Bank Farm, between the roundabout for the B4033 and Warren Road.

“Both drivers, a 34-year-old man from Northamptonshire in the Vauxhall and a 57-year-old man from Winslow, suffered life-changing injuries and were taken to hospital, where they remain in stable conditions.

“No one else was injured and no one else is being sought in relation to the collision.

“The A461 was closed between Whaddon Road and Nash Road until around 2am while the collision was dealt with.
