Gritters will hit the county roads this afternoon as cold weather will kick in.

The fleet of Buckinghamshire Council gritters will be out this afternoon (November 30).

The maintenance trucks are set to start gritting from 5pm across Buckinghamshire ahead of expected cold weather overnight.

They will release crushed rock salt onto the most used and priority roads to help melt any ice.

Buckinghamshire Highways said on social media: “We'll be out gritting across the county from 5pm as there’s another chilly night ahead! Please take care when you’re out and about.”

Each gritter truck appeared to have been given nicknames, including 'Ice Ice Baby' and 'Salt Disney'.
