A road in a Buckinghamshire town will remain closed for the next six hours during an annual Christmas carolling event.

The Causeway on Marlow was closed to traffic at 3pm today, December 19, with parking suspensions in place, for the town’s annual Carols on the Causeway event tonight.

The closure will remain in place until 9pm, during which time carollers will be invited to gather around the Christmas tree on The Causeway to sing carols with musical accompaniment from Marlow Town Band.

Santa Claus will be on hand throughout the evening to hand out chocolate coins from his grotto and mulled wine and mince pies will also be available from The George and Dragon pub.

The popular carolling event, which is set to kick off at around 6:30pm, is just the latest in the town’s packed festive calendar, with a Christmas lights-turn on and late-night shopping evening also proving great success over recent weeks.
