Commuters and parents have been reminded to not park their cars directly outside schools as children prepare for the new term this month.

Pupils across the county will return to their classrooms following the Christmas break with heavy traffic expected to hit the Buckinghamshire roads.

Most notably in Marlow, which has seen Thames Valley Police prompt those in the area to not drop off their children in undesignated spots.

This comes after a car parked outside Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in the town, causing obstructions.

In a brief social media post that was published on January 3, they said: “As our children start to get back to school this week, please be courteous to other road users and pedestrians.

“Arrive in good time and find a dedicated parking space.

“Don’t risk a fine, points on your license or your vehicle being towed.”

TVP also told drivers what NOT to do which could lead to punishment.

They said:

  • Don't park on lines indicating restrictions
  • Don't park within 10m of a junction
  • Don't park on corners
  • Don't put others at risk by blocking line of sight at junctions
