In a blend of history, glamour, and intrigue, BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood exchanged vows with partner Steve Randall at the stunning Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire.

This Grade I listed Italianate mansion, with its expansive grounds and majestic views of Windsor Castle, provided a breath taking backdrop to their intimate occasion.

Carol and Steve's engagement took place in 2022 at the Chelsea Flower Show.

The chemistry between the couple, as they posed amid the splendour of the oak panelling inside the £400 a night five-star hotel, orchestrated a picturesque scene.

The wedding took place on Wednesday, December 27, with Carol looking nothing less than radiantly beautiful in an off-the-shoulder gown.

The presenter described the big day as the "most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding".

Later, on social media, she referred to the occasion once again as the "most perfect day".

This marks a second marriage for both Carol, who's 61, and police officer Randall, who's 13 years her junior.

Carol's first marriage to ex-cricketer Jimmy Kirkwood ended in 2008 after 18 years, while Randall's marriage ended in 2017 and he has a teenage daughter with his ex Nicola.

Streaks of messages of goodwill poured in for the couple from fans and TV colleagues, affirming their choice of a private venue for their wedding.

Popularly referred to as the couple's 'local' hotel, Carol and Steve, residing relatively close in a gated community, moved in together last year.

Cliveden, with its panorama of landscaped grounds, has infamously found its place in the history books as the site of a sex scandal that had significant political repercussions in the 60s.

This was where the war minister, John Profumo, fell for Christine Keeler, eventually leading to the downfall of the Conservative Government when it was revealed she was also involved with Russian Naval attaché Yevgeny Ivanov.

Beloved by the royals and the elite, Cliveden was Meghan Markle's choice of stay before her wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018.

The Queen and Princess Margaret often visited the house, making the five-mile trip from Windsor Castle.

The Princess of Wales also attended a glittering dinner at this house in 1991.

This legendary venue, now a hotel since 1985, beautifully harmonised Carol and Steve's plans for a private and intimate occasion.

The couple's selection of a wedding venue, bathed in romance as well as history, added another enchanting chapter to the ongoing legend that is Cliveden House.
