An independent florist based in a Buckinghamshire village has been named among the best in the UK in the prestigious Good Florist Guide.

Rebecca Marsala founded Rebecca Marsala Flowers back in 2009 in her small village of Swanbourne, North Buckinghamshire, and while the intervening 14 years have been increasingly difficult for smaller-scale enterprises, she has managed to steadily build both the reputation and revenue of the still-modest operation.

That said, Rebecca Marsala Flowers has picked up a string of accolades during its ascent, including the title of best luxury wedding specialist in Buckinghamshire at the UK Enterprise Awards 2022 and a similar prize at Hitched's Wedding Awards 2023.

The business's latest recognition is one that holds special weight for Rebecca, however, as being accredited by the Good Florist Guide means a merit-based kitemark of quality that puts them in excellent, and exclusive company.

Rebecca even likened the inclusion to the florist's equivalent of a Michelin star, especially in regard to the guide's rigorous vetting process.

She added: "We are delighted to have been accepted into the Good Florist Guide. We are passionate about flowers, design, quality and the service we give to each of our customers, so it's wonderful to have that recognised.

"What's so special about our business is that we specialise in delivering timeless luxury florals. It's our purpose to give our clients complete confidence in knowing that we will deliver picture-perfect, romantic designs that surpass all expectations."

Caroline Marshall-Foster, the editor of The Florist Magazine and chief executive of the Good Florist Guide, said: "You can buy flowers virtually anywhere these days, but nothing beats the experience of receiving fabulous flowers from a truly bespoke florist, especially without it costing an arm and a leg.

"The Good Florist Guide is my way of sharing all that is good about floristry. It allows customers to know that the florist they choose is both able and willing to go the extra mile, and make all their purchases, big or small, truly special."
