A community library in a Buckinghamshire town shut its doors this morning after its premises were impacted by flooding.
Gerrards Cross Community Library on Station Road in Gerrards Cross did not open as usual this morning (January 23) after its premises were flooded following construction work to the above flats.
The flood caused damage to the library's flooring and books, and investigations to ascertain further damages are underway.
A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council, which oversees the library, said: "Gerrards Cross library has been forced to close today due to a flood caused by works to the flats above it.
"We apologise to customers for the inconvenience. Any books due back today will have their loan dates extended."
The library, which doesn't open on Wednesdays, is expected to resume service on Thursday (January 25).
