A Bucks hairdresser has applied for a licence to serve alcohol to its customers from 10am, Monday to Sunday.

Haringtons Salons Ltd filed its application with Buckinghamshire Council for its Marlow branch at 13-15 on the high street.

The hairdressing chain said the serving of alcohol would be “discrete” and only provided to customers using the salon.

Once seated, customers will be able to browse a drinks menu and select a beverage, which they must drink on the premises.

Haringtons says that the “licence holder will continue to operate the business with the highest consideration in respect of the surrounding areas, neighbours and businesses”.

A record of people refusing alcohol would also be kept, which would be able to be viewed by the police and council.

There would also be an incident log, staff alcohol training and a Challenge 25 age verification scheme put in place.

Those drinking in the salon would be forbidden to take their drink onto the street while for example smoking or making a phone call.

Haringtons Marlow offers haircuts, colouring, treatments, perms and other services.

The chain also has branches in Amersham, Beaconsfield, Maidenhead, Southampton, Wendover, Winchester and Wokingham.
