Buckinghamshire Council provide weekly roadwork update

Buckinghamshire Council have provided their weekly roadwork update.

Numerous areas across the county have been impacted by long delays due to the maintenance work, with some expected to last until the end of February.

Since April 1, 2023, over 28,120 roads have been repaired in the county.

The works are as follows:

Conventional Surfacing works

 

  • Station Road, Cheddington (Monday 22 January to Tuesday 6 February)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 9:30am and 3pm.
  • Main Road, Buckland (Monday 29 January to Tuesday 30 January)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 7:30am to 5pm.
  • Wooster Road, Foley Close, Sheepcote Close, Crispin Close, Owlsears Close – Beaconsfield (Monday 29 January to Friday 2 February)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 7:30am and 6pm.
  • Cock Lane, High Wycombe (Wednesday 31 January to Monday 5 February)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure. In operation between 8pm and 5am.
  • Seagrave Road, Beaconsfield (Wednesday 31 January to Friday 2 February)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 7:30am to 6pm.
  • A418 Leighton Road, Wing – Phase 2 (Thursday 1 February to Wednesday 14 February)
  • Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 8pm and 5am.

Footways resurfacing works

  • Craigwell Avenue, Aylesbury (Monday 13 November to Friday 16 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using a footway closure and give and take traffic management in operation between 7am and 7pm.
  • North Road / Windmill Lane, Widmer (Monday 8 January to Saturday 23 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using multi-way traffic signals in operation between 9am and 3pm.
  • Straight Bit, Flackwell Heath (Monday 8 January to Friday 16 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using multi-way traffic signals in operation between 8am and 5pm.
  • Market Hill, Buckingham (Monday 22 January to Friday 16 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using multi-way traffic signals in operation between 9:30am and  3:30pm.
  • Thorney Lane South, Iver (Monday 22 January to Friday 23 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using a footpath closure and multi-way traffic signals in operation between 7am and 7pm.
  • Hedgerow, Chalfont St Peters (Monday 22 January to Friday 23 February)
  • Footway resurfacing works using footpath closure signals in operation between 7am and 7pm.

Street Lighting Works

  • Marlow – various locations – upgrade of LED lanterns
  • Aylesbury – various locations – upgrade of LED lanterns
  • Various Locations – upgrade of illuminated signs and bollards (located on central traffic islands and roundabouts)
  • Various Locations – upgrade of damaged street lighting columns and removal or damaged stumps
  • Bourg Walk Bridge – upgrade of lighting to LED lanterns along the Bourg Walk using partial closure (cyclists please dismount)

Safety Barrier Works

  • A41 Aston Clinton Bypass (Monday 22 January to Friday 2 February)
  • Safety barrier upgrade works using a lane and slip road closure in operation between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
  • Road worker abuse has increased this year – please respect our workforce while they make improvements to Buckinghamshire’s Highways.

As part of Buckinghamshire Council’s £105m investment in roads across the county over four years, work is taking place at the following locations through Buckinghamshire Highways' Strategic Highway Maintenance Programme.

The works are part of a rolling programme of countywide work and some activities are extremely weather-dependent, therefore dates shown are subject to change at short notice.

These dates may also be subject to change depending on the availability of materials and unforeseen circumstances out of our control.
