A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker in police custody.

At 6.47pm on Thursday, January 25, reports were made to the emergency services after a 48-year-old man had been found stabbed in a building in Fen Street, Milton Keynes.

The man died at the scene, with an autopsy on Sunday, January 28, concluded that he had suffered a wound to the neck.

A custody extension was granted for a 24-year-old man from Milton Keynes, who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man in question, Jay Lupton, of Fen Street, is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court today [Tuesday, January 30],

Additionally, a 57-year-old woman, also from Milton Keynes, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on police bail until Thursday, April 25.

A Thames Valley Police statement reads: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.

“If anyone has any information or footage from the area of Brooklands Square and Fen Street on Thursday and hasn’t already spoken to the police, please contact us as soon as possible.
