The owner of a huge manor has applied for permission to build a large extension at the back of his house.

James Thorpe, who lives in Boycott Manor near Buckingham, plans a single storey rear extension of the seven-bedroom country pile.

The new structure would be 8m deep from Boycott’s existing rear wall, 17m wide and 4m in height.

The application to Buckinghamshire Council to extend the property off Dadford Road, Stowe lists Lyudmil Smilenov – or ‘Vassi’ – as the estate manager.

The nearest houses are some distance away from the red brick manor, which sits in nearly 13 acres of grounds.

Savills previously marketed Boycott as a “beautiful manor house restored to an exceptionally high specification”.

Its many rooms include a reception hall, drawing room, morning room, dining room, study, kitchen/breakfast room, family room, cinema, office, gym with cardio suite and changing rooms, music room, playroom and more.

The extensive property, which was last on the market for £4.95m, also sports a tennis court, outbuildings and a self-contained one-bedroom staff flat.

A previous owner of the manor was given planning permission in 2014 to convert a garage into a ‘gym/dog room’ and build a swimming pool pavilion, steam rooms and changing rooms.
