Police are searching for a pensioner who assaulted a woman by pushing her to the ground, grabbing her neck and hitting her head on the pavement.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault of a woman in her forties that took place on Chalfont St Peter High Street at around 12:45pm on Saturday, February 17.

A man in his sixties or seventies is thought to have punched the wing mirror of the woman's car, taken her phone and pushed her to the floor before grabbing her neck and hitting her head on the pavement.

The woman sustained injuries to her face, neck and leg but did not need hospital treatment.

Police described the offender as a white man, aged between 60 and 70-years-old, who was wearing a navy blue coat, blue jeans and brown shoes and was carrying a green bag at the time of the assault.

Investigating officer PC Connie Chandler said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this distressing assault to please come forward.

“Also, if you were driving in the area around the time of the incident and have a dash-cam, or if you live nearby and have CCTV camera or video doorbell footage, please check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist us and get in touch if you have.”
