FOUR men have been arrested after hundreds of suspected stolen tools were found in Aylesbury Vale.

Thames Valley Police officers searched a suspected stolen van in Nash on Monday, February 19.

Hundreds of tools were found in the van and police suspect them to be stolen.

As such, a 25-year-old man and 19-year-old man, both from Nash, a 43-year-old-man from London and a 47-year-old-man from Bristol were all arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.

The 43-year-old man was also arrested for a fail to appear warrant and will appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court today (February 21) for this.

He has been released on bail for the theft and handling stolen goods offences.

The 47-year-old man was also arrested for possession of a class B drug. They have all been released on bail.

Detective Sergeant John Johnston, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “The suspected stolen items from the van have been seized by police and extensive work is underway to identify serial numbers or distinguishing marks that we can cross-reference with details of stolen tools in crime reports across the country.

"We will make contact directly with individuals if any owners are identified.

“It is vital that all tools are tagged to give us the best chance of reuniting you with them if they are stolen.

"Our advice is to take a photo of the serial number or identifying marks, consider using a unique tamperproof sticker, an ultraviolet pen or engraving your initials or a memorable word.

"Register your tools and serial numbers on a national database such as Immobilise and remember to mark your batteries too."
