The owner of a huge Buckinghamshire manor is to build a large extension at the back of the luxury property.

James Thorpe, who lives in Boycott Manor near Buckingham, was given permission for his plans by Buckinghamshire Council.

Planners said the proposals for the red-brick two-storey manor would ‘not adversely affect’ neighbouring houses.

The nearest neighbouring properties to Boycott, which is located off Dadford Road, Stowe, are over 300m away, according to the planning application.

The new structure is set to extend 8m from the rear of the main house, will be 17m wide and 4m tall with a flat roof.

One condition of the approval of the plans reads: “The materials used in any exterior work shall be of a similar appearance to those used in the construction of the exterior of the existing dwellinghouse.”

Boycott, which sits in nearly 13 acres of grounds, is described as a ‘beautiful manor house restored to an exceptionally high specification’.

The detached property is not listed but does sit within a conservation area and feature landscaped gardens.

The manor was last marketed for £4.95m and includes tennis courts, a cinema, reception hall, music room and a gym with cardio suite and changing rooms.
