A ‘production insider’ has said there is ‘no truth’ to reports that High Wycombe-born actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been chosen as the next James Bond.
The Sun newspaper reported today (March 19) that Taylor-Johnson had been ‘formally offered’ the 007 role.
A source said the 33-year-old, who studied at the Jackie Palmer Stage School in Wycombe, was “the perfect person to play Bond” and that “a formal offer is on the table”.
However, a production insider has told BBC News there is “no truth in the rumours”.
Taylor-Johnson was named by Ladbrokes as the bookie’s favourite to replace James Bond on Monday (March 18).
He was tight-lipped when asked about the speculation by Numero magazine last week, telling the publication: "I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment."
