Two more ornaments have been erected in Amersham in preparation for the upcoming Children’s Art Trail.
In the afternoon of Monday, March 25, a couple of herons were put up in the churchyard of St Mary’s.
The art trail, which we will be launching this spring, includes many of the other features that have been installed over the past couple of years, including the willow and wooden sculptures, the swarm of bees and the fox.
The initiative aims to encourage children to explore nature in their local area, as the weather starts to get warmer.
The herons are just some of the sculptures that have been installed in the town following the arrival of several animal statues last summer.
In August 2013, three willow sculptures (a pair of boxing hares, a red kite and Sir Topham Hatt) were installed in the Memorial Gardens, on Sycamore Corner and alongside the Met 1 display on Oakfield Corner in the town.
