A plan to modify part of seven flats in Amersham has taken a step forward after a planning application was approved.

Dove Properties has been given permission to make changes to 3 Chiltern Parade, Chesham Road, an apartment above the Holland & Barrett on Sycamore Road.

The developer can now carry out its plans to add a rear dormer and roof light to the flat and reconfigure the property’s internal layout.

Flat 3 would retain the existing rear elevation on the first and second floors, according to the approved non-material amendment to planning permission.

Planning officers said: “The proposed changes are minor and would not materially change the approved scheme. As such, this application for a non-material amendment is acceptable.”

Planners said the impact of the plans on the overall appearance and character of the approved site would not affect residents.

Dove Properties was originally given permission for seven one-bedroom apartments at the site back in 2019.

Some of the other flats in the development sit above other high street shops, including Oxfam on Sycamore Road.

Another application to add a new staircase with an external weatherproofed housing box at the site was refused by planning officers in December last year.
