Wycombe's Cancer Research branch donated Jimmy Choo shoes

The town’s Cancer Research branch, which is situated along Church Street, exclusively revealed to the Free Press at the start of April that a pair of shoes that ‘are still in its box’ along with a handful of rare model cars have come their way in recent months.

However, despite knowing that these specific pieces of clothing and keepsakes are expected to go for a three-figure sum, the shop’s manager, Katrina Fagence, has urged members of the public to volunteer.

This comes after numerous donations have been made to the branch, but staff shortages mean not all the bags can be looked through in quick time.

On the items that were given to the shop, she said: “We need clothes, particularly ladies' clothing as that’s a very good seller.

“We have seasonal bags as well so stuff that we got in the autumn last year for spring and summer, we keep and put them out when the time is right.

“When we get short of that, we then go into what’s in our shed.

“We’ve had a few things come in recently which include a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes.

“They had a retail price of around £450 and were new.

“I think they’ve been worn but they’re still in the box.

“With the cars, we have about four or five of them come in and they’re not supposed to be taken out of their box.

“They’re very rare collectibles and a couple have already been sold on eBay.

“They’re all Peugeot and they’re beautiful.”

The items, along with a very old version of the popular board game, Cluedo, are still available at the branch.

With volunteers, she added: “A lot of people are selling things for themselves which is why we don’t get the quantity that we used to do.

“But still donations and we need several volunteers as we don’t get a lot of time to pursue everything.

“There are times where we make a mistake and sometimes customers can pick up a bargain, so we need several volunteers who can give four to five hours in a day.”
