PARKING notices have been issued to drivers ahead of the historic Beaconsfield Charter Fair next month.
Drivers have been warned they will not be able to park in Beaconsfield Old Town from 2pm Thursday, May 9, until 10am Saturday, May 11, due to the fair taking place on Friday.
Cars have received notices today with the polite request.
Every year since 1269, the charter fair takes place on May 10 – except when that date is a Sunday, and then it will be held on the following Monday.
A number of roads will be closed for the event, including London End, B474 Aylesbury End and Wycombe End.
The fair has been a part and parcel of the town’s life since 1269.
A legend says the fair must return each year, because if one year is skipped, it can never return.
The fair is put on by the Showmen's Guild of Great Britain, who organise fair ground rides, stalls and activities for kids.
A diversion route will be in place so drivers can avoid the road closures.
