A woman in her fifties was hospitalised and a teenager was arrested after a serious car crash in a Buckinghamshire village.

A grey Volkswagen Polo and a black Toyota Rav 4 crashed into each other on Blackgrove Road in Quainton at around 3:07pm on Friday, April 19.

A 17-year-old from Buckinghamshire who had been driving the Volkswagen was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and being over the drug limit.

They have been released but remain under investigation. 

The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her fifties, was thought to have suffered fractures and was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.

The force is now appealing for witnesses to the crash to help establish the details of the incident.

Investigating officer PC James Holmes of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision.

“We are asking for the public’s assistance and would ask anyone with witness information or dash-cam footage to please get in touch.”
