Witney's popular music festival has announced its line-up for the two-day summer music event.

Headliners are ska and reggae icons The Beat, featuring Ranking Jnr., son of the late Ranking Roger, who is carrying on his father's legacy.

Based in Birmingham, The Beat's debut single Tears of a Clown went Top 10 in the UK while their debut studio album Just Can’t Stop included the now-cult single Mirror in The Bathroom.

The Absolute Stone Roses headline the Friday supported by leading Muse tribute act beMUSEd.

They will be joined by more female-fronted bands than ever before including Gina Larner, Lucille & The Lightning, Soul Train and Lina and The Lions.

The new Dance Stage in a 400 capacity circus marquee will showcase DJs including Sista Stroke headlining on the Friday and The Daft Punk Laser Show on Saturday.

Festival chair Eric Marshall said: "We are super excited about this year's festival as we re-establish how we want to move forward as a festival for the next 10 years and beyond.

"We have always been about new music and different genres and this year's festival will not disappoint.

"These great headliners are back-filled with some of the most talented artists of original music and cover bands we have ever put on so we are gearing up for the best year ever," said Mr Marshall.

The event is being staged again in partnership with Witney Town Council.

He added: "Without their help and support this couldn't go ahead. They have been an amazing ally to have working with us to make this an amazing event for the community.

"I would urge people to get their tickets early as this will be a record year for attendance give the depth of talent we have to entertain people.

"Here's to the best event yet."
