There were heavy traffic delays in Flackwell Heath due to a set of four-way traffic lights.

Commuters heading towards Flackwell Heath were stuck for roughly 25 minutes in the centre of the village, with motorists on Chapel Road, Swains Lane, Heath End Road and the Straight Bit ‘creeping’ towards the junction.

The congestion caused significant problems.

One person said: “I couldn’t believe it.

“I was stuck there for 25 minutes just creeping and crawling.

“It’s ridiculous – you couldn’t move.”

Mike Dewey said: “I live in Flackwell and you can’t avoid it if you need to go out.

“It’s awful.”

According to One Network, the work being conducted is to fix several electrical issues, with the repairs due to finish today [May 1].

However, the website also states that ‘delays are unlikely’ – contrary to what numerous motorists experienced.

It’s the second time this year that traffic problems have been spotted in the village, following issues back in February.
