A HOUSING developer has bought 75 acres at Wilton Park, Beaconsfield, previously owned by Inland Homes for residential development.

In 2019, plans were approved for up to 350 open market and affordable homes to be built on the site, a former estate of the monks of Burnham Abbey and later the Ministry of Defence.

While part of the site has been developed by Bewley Homes, Beechcroft has future plans for the remaining area. 

Beechcroft's Managing Director, Chris Thompson said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the Wilton Park site after four months of negotiation.

"The delivery of new homes – and particularly affordable homes - in Beaconsfield is important and we look forward to creating high quality housing along with attractive, informal, open spaces and community facilities.

"Planning has already been granted for a new nursery building and a community centre/café.

"We anticipate the scheme, which will be completed within a five-to-seven-year timescale, will bring many benefits to the local area.”

Thompson also revealed plans for Beaconsfield Town Football Club, saying: “We are particularly keen to secure the long-term future of Beaconsfield Town Football Club.

"The club was due to move to formal pitches at Wilton Park which would have been leased on an annual basis but by relocating the pitches to Glory Hill, we will be able to transfer ownership of the new pitches to the club.

"This is a move that is supported by club members and parents of children who use the club.”
