A section of Downley still remains closed off to the public as an attempted murder investigation is underway following the shooting of a police officer.
A 54-year-old man, who allegedly stabbed a man in his 60s along School Close on the evening of May 10, fired a crossbow at a member of Thames Valley Police between 7pm and 8pm on Friday, May 10.
Following the latter, the man was gunned down by a fellow officer.
It’s been reported that he has been taken to a nearby hospital, we he remains, with ‘potentially life-changing injuries’.
Images from the scene show that the road near High Wycombe is still cordoned off from members of the public, with residents of School Close being the only ones who can enter and leave the vicinity.
After speaking to members of the police force at the scene on May 11, they confirmed that they ‘wouldn’t know’ how long the road would be off limits.
Here are some pictures from the scene – around 12 officers were spotted at roughly 11.30pm on May 10, with the Free Press being told that ‘many police cars’ attended the scene earlier on that day.
