A popular annual race returns to Marlow this weekend, with over 1,000 people hitting the pavement today (May 12) to raise money for a good cause.
Roads around the town will be closed between 9am and 1pm as runners take part in the reliably well-attended five-mile race, the Marlow 5.
Handy Cross Runners, the group behind the yearly spectacle – which often involves participants donning costumes, something that might be reduced this year because of the heat – has warned that several partial road closures will be in place until 1pm.
A map of the route taken by this year’s runners, who set off from the High Street this morning and will finish in Higginson Park, can be seen below.
A spokesperson for Handy Cross Runners said over 1,000 people had signed up for this year’s race. Funds from ticket sales went to the running club’s chosen charity of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
