A new skin cancer centre in Amersham has opened.
The venue, which boasts a state-of-the-art surgical day-case facility, the centre will provide patients with quicker diagnosis and treatment in an easy-to-access, modern environment.
The centre was officially opened by Trust Chair David Highton on Tuesday, May 14 at a small ceremony to celebrate the hard work and vision of those who managed the project from initial concept to reality over the last five years.
The Trust has also started a same-day ‘see-and-treat service’ at the Skin Cancer Centre.
This offers patients the opportunity to have an assessment and surgery in a single visit, instead of having to wait for a second appointment at either Wycombe or Stoke Mandeville hospitals to have their surgery.
As Trust Chair David Highton points out: “By providing them with a one-stop-shop to see our dermatology and plastic surgery specialists, we are simplifying, speeding up and ultimately improving how they access the care they need.”
