L&Q has apologised to residents living in Gerrards Cross sheltered accommodation for their leaky roof and mould-caked walls.

Several issues with Crossfield House on South Park Crescent have been reported to the housing association, which has managed the properties since 2023.

Those living in the retirement complex complain of mould in their kitchen, exposed wiring, water in sockets, a hole in an entrance wall, a ‘filthy carpet’ and mould in a garage.

The problems are said to be linked to a leaky roof, blocked gutters which ‘have not been cleaned for years’ and blocked drains.

Charlie Culshaw, director of care and support at L&Q Living, told the Bucks Free Press: “We apologise to residents at Crossfield House for the delays in repairs and the issues this has caused in the communal areas.

“We have had difficulties identifying the source of the leak but have now established what repairs are needed.”

The housing chief said L&Q’s property services team had been dispatched ‘to determine the scope of works required’.

He added: “Once complete we will make all necessary repairs to the kitchen and any other affected areas, including replacing the carpet in the communal lounge.

“We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Residents of the complex have said that its walls are covered with mould and rust due to water ingress from leaks.

Pictures show water pooling on the kitchen floor and holes in the ceiling, as well as some panels missing.
