BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay is returning to High Wycombe this winter after picking up a UK Pantomime Award for his stint at the Swan two years ago.

The popular host of programmes including T4, Just the Two of Us and ITV’s This Morning, will return to the stage in December to lead a production of Aladdin, alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race star La Voix.

Kay received rave reviews – and the title of Best Newcomer at the UK Pantomime Awards – for his performance in Cinderella at the Wycombe Swan in 2022, and it seems he’s keen for a return to the ‘madness’.

He said: “I’m so excited to be returning to the Wycombe Swan, my local theatre, in Aladdin this year. It’s a fantastic story, an absolute classic. I can’t wait to get back on the stage for all the panto madness. Great song and dance, lots of audience interaction and amazing slapstick. Expect a whole lot of high-paced, high-tempo full of energy and blink-and-you-miss-it action.  I’ll see you there!”

Fiona Martin, Theatre Director at the Swan, said "We are beyond excited to welcome Vernon Kay back home this festive season. His return is eagerly anticipated, and sharing the stage with the fabulous La Voix in Aladdin is truly a wish come true.

“We were captivated by his portrayal of Dandini in 2022’s Cinderella, and we look forward to seeing him race around our stage once more, backed by a brand-new, dazzling digital set!"

Aladdin will play at the Wycombe Swan from December 13, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Head to www.wycombeswan.co.uk to book your pantomime tickets today.
