A man who was arrested following the recent crossbow shooting in High Wycombe has been charged with a series of crimes.
Jason King, 54, of School Close, Downley, was apprehended in the evening of Friday, May 10, following a ‘serious incident’ in the village.
The occurrence, which took place between 6pm and 8pm that night, resulted in a man in his 60s being stabbed at a property along the street.
Armed police attended the scene, and video footage obtained by the Free Press showed a man in the area holding a crossbow, which was fired at an officer.
The suspect was then later shot by police and taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
Both the man in his 60s and the officer were discharged from hospital later that evening.
Nearly two weeks later, King has been charged with the following crimes:
- Two counts each of; Section 18 - wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place,
- One count each of; possession of an offensive weapon in a public place,
- Affray
- Possession of a knife in a public place
- Criminal damage
- Cultivation of cannabis a class B controlled drug
- Possession of cannabis a class B controlled drug
- Assault by beating an emergency worker
King was remanded in custody and is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court today [May 23].
