A PARK in High Wycombe is heavily waterlogged due to regular heavy rainfall, hindering cricket sessions for a local group.
The grounds of Kingsmead Recreation Ground in Fennels Road have been in use by a cricket group for the past 3 to 4 years without prior issues.
However, recently, even without rain, the ground's damp condition has made it unplayable.
The issue was reported on Buckinghamshire Council's Fix My Street platform.
Clive Harriss, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture & Leisure said: "This area is highly susceptible to flooding due to a very high water table and the proximity to nearby rivers and streams."
He continued: "Council officers will monitor the situation and ensure any ground drainage is operating properly, but until the weather improves the flooding won’t go away.
"Clearly with half term fast approaching, restricted access to the play facilities is inconvenient, however this is an act of nature which is beyond the Council’s control."
