A coroner has ruled the death of a ‘much-respected’ woman who lived in Chalfont St Peter as a result of battling multiple cancers.
Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Wright passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 64 after spending six years bravely fighting different forms of the disease.
In the official inquest which took place on August 14 at Beaconsfield Coroner’s Court, Mrs Wright’s husband and daughter were present, with assistant coroner Ian Wade leading the proceedings.
The court heard how the 64-year-old was born in Middlesex but lived in Chalfont St Peter at the time of her death.
She was a retired business manager who was highly regarded by many of her peers, friends and family members.
In January 2018, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and subsequently underwent surgery and chemotherapy.
However, during her treatment, Mrs Wright was also diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (blood cancer), and breast cancer.
She underwent numerous remedies and surgeries to combat her condition, but treatment stopped in December 2023, before being placed in palliative care on January 8 of this year, before passing away 'peacefully' two weeks later.
Coroner Wade concluded that Mrs Wright’s passing was linked to her ovarian cancer diagnosis, and passed on his sympathies to the Wright family.
