The staff and Governors of Lord Williams’s School would like to congratulate the Year 11 Class of 2024 on their hard-earned GCSE, BTEC and Cambridge National results. 73% of the students achieved 5 or more higher grades (9-4) including English and Mathematics, with 75% achieving passes at grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics.
At the end of his final year as Headteacher, Jon Ryder commented: ‘I am especially delighted with the successes achieved by our Year 11s this year. These students were in Year 7 when the first lockdown took place and they have faced considerable disruption to their secondary schooling. Many of them have overcome considerable challenges over the past few years to achieve these results and I congratulate them all. I would also like to pay tribute to the superb support they have received from staff at the school, and – of course - from their parents and carers as well.’
The following 43 students achieved seven or more GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications at grades 7, 8 or 9: Claudia Bosley, Sebastian Boucher, Izzy Bradford, Sophie Bray, Laura Bryant, Julia Clark, Kirsty Cleare, William Conlon, Emma Corby, Molly Cunningham, David Duarte, Daisy Edinburgh, Daniel Francis, Lula Fransham, Charlotte Gardner, Maisie Gibson, Arthur Golds, Gloria Gomes, Bella Griffiths, Matthew Gu, Anna Heywood, Calum Lambert, Giselle Molloholli, Ella Penrose, Olivia Pitts, Josh Priestley, Charlie Ralphs-Cole, Lola Ransby, Hugo Rogers, Lydia Russell, Molly Scott, Adam Sims, Elsie Smith, Jessica Smits, Ayjah Soden, Holly Stafford, Ava Stevenson, Tilly Taylor, Flora Thompson, Chloe Verrek, Annabel Wagstaffe, Alice Webb, Toby Webster.
The vast majority of our students will continue their studies at Lord Williams’s and we look forward to supporting their development over the course of their Sixth Form careers. We wish every success to those who are leaving us to continue their studies elsewhere or to begin an apprenticeship.
Staff and students at E-ACT Bourne End Academy are today celebrating some fantastic GCSE and vocational results.
There was widespread success across a range of subjects, with 20 students achieving top grades (7-9) in English and all students achieving 9-4 within Higher Maths. This year's results have also seen grade 9s awarded across Geography, Science, Spanish, English and History.
This was complimented by a 100% pass rate across all vocational subjects, including Construction, Health and Social Care, Dance, Drama and Sport.
Staff at E-ACT Bourne End Academy have gone above and beyond to ensure their students were as prepared as possible for their GCSEs. In particular, the academy ran bespoke revision and interventions sessions delivered internally, externally and in conjunction with other academies across the trust.
The extra support paid off with many students achieving excellent results.
