A High Wycombe care home recently made a donation to the town's Shopmobility.
Shelburne Lodge Care Home donated the sum of £979, to go towards wheelchair equipment.
The funds were a grant from Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, which supports people with disabilities and mental health issues across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Grants and funding manager for Shopmobility, David Fismister, received the cheque at a small gathering at the home.
He also met some of the residents.
Mr Fismister said: "It was lovely to finally see the home that is so close to the shop and meet the residents - especially Mr and Mrs Tack.
"It was a question I had in mind, about keeping a married couple together, and I asked what the secret was to being married for 71 years?"
Diana Nica, general manager at Shelburne Lodge, said: "We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.
"We hope as a local community group that Shopmobility might be open to building bridges with the home with collaborative events in High Wycombe and surrounding areas.
"We both hope this collaboration will lead to strong community friendships, and after having met the manager and the volunteers at the shop, we are sure this will be a memorable collaboration."
Run by care provider Barchester Healthcare, Shelburne Lodge provides nursing care, residential care, and respite care.
