The daughter of a much-loved Marlow resident is preparing to launch a local radio show to inject some ‘feel good’ into Friday evenings.
Sarah Churchill, whose father Danny was well-known in the town for his charity and community work before he sadly passed away 10 years ago, will host her debut show on Marlow FM from 9pm to 12am on Friday, September 13.
Sarah, who describes herself as a Marlovian “born and bred”, will welcome guests to share their five “feel good” tracks, interspersed with local stories and guest DJs every second Friday of the month – promising to help listeners end their weeks “with a shout rather than a whimper”.
The Sarah C Sessions were born out of their host’s background in and love of music, and the newest addition to Marlow FM’s volunteer team said she was “thrilled” at the prospect of sharing her favourite songs, hearing others’ and highlighting hot new mixes live on air.
Her first guest will be another local legend in his own right, the former landlord of The Crown in Market Square, Colin Gatland-Hanlon.
Colin, who managed The Crown Hotel through the 1970s, 80s and 90s, will join Sarah in the studio on September 13 to “dig deep and reminisce about the good old days” and indulge in some “fantastic” tunes too, naturally.
