A Marlow Bottom Fish and Chip shop will conduct an ‘official grand opening’ for their cabin after it was given approval by Buckinghamshire Council.
Oysters Fish and Chips in Brucewood Parade will christen the outdoor hut at 1pm on Friday, September 20.
Gav Singh has owned the establishment since 2009, alongside his sister branch in Lightwater, and after a ‘stressful’ period where he was worried that his cabin would be removed by the unitary authority he was given the green light for it to stay.
He added: “It was a bit of a trigger, back in July, and made me think about planning my exit strategy – one day I would like to sell the shop and pass it on to the right people.
“But I wouldn’t say that’s at the front of my mind at the moment. This has been a real boost – the situation was a damper both financially and in other senses, and it did demotivate me a bit.
“But I’ve been especially chuffed by all the local support. It’s restored some of my faith in the community, and, above all else, it’s a massive relief.”
Members of the public are welcomed to join the occasion.
