It is due to be a landmark month for the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre in Amersham as they are set to reach its three millionth visitor.
To mark this occasion, the popular leisure centre will be hosting a celebration event at the end of the month, which will see its three-millionth visitor get awarded a luxury prize hamper.
Taking place on September 28 and 29, the open weekend will invite the local community to come along and celebrate the landmark moment.
Commenting on the achievement, Steve Salwa, area contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “It’s a huge achievement to be counting down to our three millionth visitor.
“Over the last three years, we’ve worked incredibly hard to make Chilterns Lifestyle Centre the thriving community hub it is today, and this milestone marks the culmination of that.
“A massive thank you to everyone who has visited the centre over the years and enjoyed the array of activities and facilities we have on offer here.
“We’ll continue to serve the community and get people active for years to come.
“But for now, we encourage everyone to join us in celebrating at our upcoming open weekend taking place across Bucks.”
Chesham Leisure Centre and Chalfont Leisure Centre will also be taking part in the celebratory weekend. All three facilities are run by Everyone Active in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council.
There will be a range of free sports and fitness activities on offer across the Bucks leisure centres, including badminton, pickleball and Zumba, as well as gym and swim.
Children will be able to enjoy the array of family-friendly activities on offer, such as soft play and Clip n Climb. There will also be a bouncy castle at Chalfont Leisure Centre.
All activities will cost £1 – with all proceeds donated to Breast Cancer Now, Everyone Active’s official charity partner.
Clive Harriss, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, added: “We take great pride in the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre and its popularity among residents of Amersham and the surrounding areas.
“The centre’s impressive facilities are sure to inspire more residents to stay active throughout the autumn and beyond. If you haven’t visited yet, we invite you to come along during the open weekend to explore all that the centre has to offer.”
Chilterns Lifestyle Centre opened just under three years ago in December 2021, meaning that more than one million people set foot into the facility every year.
