A man, who showed no remorse for his actions, has been sentenced after he was convicted of beating and strangling a woman in public.
Michael Bushay, aged 20, of HMP Bullingdon, was jailed for one year and two months following a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday September 29. He was also made subject to a five year restraining order against the victim.
Bushay pleaded guilty to one count each of assault by beating and intentional strangulation at a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates Court on May 3.
At around 10.30pm on May 1 this year, Bushay assaulted and strangled a woman on Mill Road, causing injuries to her.
Bushay was arrested the same day and was charged on May 3.
Investigating officer PC George Ward said: “This was a violent and distressing incident of violence which occurred in a public place.
“During the investigation Bushay has shown no true remorse for his actions.
“I am pleased that Bushay has been jailed and I hope the result demonstrates that violence against women and girls will not be tolerated and Thames Valley Police will always look to bring offenders to justice.
