A charity shop in Princes Risborough is planning to relocate within the next month.
The town’s RSPCA branch, which sits at the very end of the High Street, is expected to transfer near Church Street and Market Place, where it will be based in the unit that was once used by Helen & Douglas House.
The move is set to take place at the end of October/start of November, but no definitive date has been confirmed.
The shop’s manager, Sara Salem, told the Free Press: “We’re a small umbrella of the main RSPCA as this branch deals with small animals such as rehoming cats and rabbits.
“People are so into animals right now, as they are learning about the cruelty that they are getting involved.
“So to move into a place that is around four times bigger than what we currently have, with lots of storage is really important for us.
“We want to help as much as we can and we need more space.
“We’ve been here for 20 years so I think now is the right time to move into something bigger.”
As well as having a branch in Risborough, there are outlets in Burnham and Chesham, with the latter undergoing a refurbishment in the summer.
The move will help the charity take in much-needed donations to help unwanted animals in the area, with Sara revealing that many donators are ‘very considerate’, with the items that they give away.
She explained: “We don’t get left many boxes or bags left outside because people know how small the shop is.
“They tend to come in and leave us with the donations, or, they ask as they know how small we are.
“The people who come in are very considerate.”
Finally, when asked about the importance of using charity shops, the manager concluded with: “It’s very important.
“Charity shops are about sustainability and it saves the environment from waste.”
“They are very important.”
The shop currently has an average score of 4.2/5 from six reviews.
One reads: “A well-located charity shop that offers a limited selection of good bargains neatly displayed and well presented.”
