Jon Richardson has announced a star-studded line-up for a charity comedy night in Aylesbury.
Known for his roles in '8 Out of 10 Cats', 'Meet the Richardsons', and appearances on 'Have I Got News for You', will be joined by Suzi Ruffell, Tim Vine, Matt Forde, and Kojo Anim at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
The event, taking place on Friday, October 11, is organised in honour of Richardson's friend, Martin Hywood, who lives with limb girdle muscular dystrophy.
All profits from the night will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy UK, the leading charity for the 110,000 adults and children in the UK living with more than 60 muscle-wasting and weakening conditions.
Mr Richardson's involvement with the charity began several years ago when he met Mr Hywood at a Leeds United football match.
Mr Hywood's rare progressive condition causes his muscles to weaken over time.
Mr Richardson has since been actively raising awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK through various events.
He said: "Martin and I have been mates for years and it's a pleasure for me to support him and Muscular Dystrophy UK in this way."
Suzi Ruffell, a regular host on Virgin Radio, has had five sold-out runs at the Fringe, a nomination for Best Stand-Up Show in the National Comedy Awards, and has appeared on 'Live at the Apollo', 'Mock the Week', and 'The Last Leg'.
Tim Vine has been a staple of the London comedy circuit since the mid-90s, with sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival.
He also acted in five series of the award-winning sitcom ‘Not Going Out’ and has performed stand-up worldwide.
Political comedian and satirist Matt Forde is also part of the line-up, fresh from a month-long run at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
He is currently touring theatres nationwide from October 2 to March 2025.
Finally, Kojo Anim, who reached the finals in 'Britain’s Got Talent 2019' as Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act, will join the special event.
He now resides in Los Angeles and has opened for comedy figures such as Chris Rock and Kevin Hart.
There are three tiers of tickets available for the Jon Richardson and Friends comedy night, starting from £32.81.
Tickets can be purchased from the theatre's website.
Besides ticket proceeds, a raffle will also be held on the night to raise more funds.
