Waddesdon Manor is set to host a variety of events this October, fom adventure trails to spooky teas.
Kicking off the month is the Zoolab Autumn Adventure Trail, which runs until Sunday, October 27.
Families can explore Miss Alice’s Drive with a trail map and resource pack, meeting woodland creatures along the way.
Visitors can also stop by the Conservation Hub, which will become the ‘House of Skulls’ for the month.
The trail is free with grounds admission.
For those looking for more hands-on fun, the Creepy Critters show by Zoolab offers a chance to meet exotic animals such as snakes and tarantulas on weekends in October.
The show is suitable for all ages and costs £6 for adults and £8 for children, plus normal grounds admission.
The Manor Restaurant will serve up a spooky afternoon tea on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, featuring treats like ghost meringues and eyeball cupcakes.
The tea costs £36 for adults and £18.50 for children, plus normal grounds admission.
Garden lovers can enjoy the autumn gardens until Sunday, October 27.
Visitors can stroll through the gardens as they change colour or collect conkers along the way.
Art enthusiasts have until Sunday, October 20, to see the David Guercino exhibition at Waddesdon, which features five paintings by the renowned Bolognese painter.
The collection includes King David and the Wise Women along with rediscovered Baroque piece Moses, which is on display to the public for the first time.
This is free with house and grounds admission.
The Flights of Fancy: Birds at Waddesdon exhibition is also open until Sunday, October 27, offering a celebration of birds throughout the Manor, Aviary, and Gardens.
Highlights include displays of Sèvres porcelain, an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Louis-Denis Armand, and paper sculptures by Andy Singleton. This is also free with house and grounds admission.
As the end of the year approaches, Waddesdon Manor will transform for Christmas from Friday, November 15, to Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Inspired by the tale of Sleeping Beauty, the manor will feature decorated interiors, light projections on the Manor façade, a light trail in the gardens, and the popular Christmas market.
The Christmas Fair and Food Village will run until Sunday, December 22, offering artisan stalls and takeaway food and drink.
Festive afternoon teas and winter cellar tours and tastings are also on offer.
Visitors can book tickets for these events at the Waddesdon Manor website.
