Firefighters and police have raced to a vehicle blaze that caused long delays near Marlow. 

Emergency services closed a section of the A404 just before 9am today (October 29) after a black car caught fire. 

Around two fire engines and police were on the scene with the left lane coned off.

The incident caused long delays stretching back past Maidenhead to the M4. 

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 8:29am on Tuesday, 29 October, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the A404 near Bisham.

"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Maidenhead and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene alongside a crew from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

"Upon arrival, crews discovered a car on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"Crews were at the scene for approximately 50 minutes."
