Amersham streets have received new murals painted on communication boxes throughout the town.

Permission was originally given for the painting of eight boxes, but has since been expanded.

A spokesman for the council said: "This initiative is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to enhance the street scene throughout Amersham by bringing vibrant, locally inspired art to public spaces.

"We are proud to have collaborated with local artists and schools — including Dr Challoner’s Grammar School, Stony Dean School, and St George’s CofE School — to transform 17 street boxes.

"I am pleased to report that permission has now been granted to paint a further eight boxes, continuing this celebration of community engagement and creativity."

Some of the locations where the boxes can be found are on Station Road, where a swan was painted by two Michelles, a member of the Town Council and a volunteer.

One mural with an image of two hares is being completed at the junction of Stanley Hill Avenue and Stanley Hill.
