A post box topper made by the Craft and Chat group from Flackwell Heath Community Library has had a bright blue, all-caps notice attached to its side.

It states: "POLICE MOUSENAP INVESTIGATION IN PROGRESS"

The top of the Flackwell Heath post box had been decorated with a knitted and crotched scene of six mice, dancing around a maypole.

Since its installation on Common Road, two of the mice have gone missing.

The green crochet top, covered in flowers with knitted mice and a ribbon-clad pole, was created by the crafting group that meets at the library monthly for sewing, embroidery, knitting and crochet.

The knit and natterers also recently made a crochet memorial for VE day celebrations, which can be found at the Flackwell Heath Community Library, Carrington Junior School, Chapel Road.
