Approximately 120 properties have been left without gas after a burst water main damaged a gas main.

Roadworks are underway and temporary traffic lights are set to be put in place amid the incident in Amersham.

Bucks Highways shared an update about the situation in a "road alert" social media post.

The highways authority stated: "We’re aware of an issue in Amersham (near Market Square) where a burst water main has damaged a gas main - leaving around 120 properties without gas.

"Footway works and some carriageway incursion are in place and will move to multi‑way lights.

"We are monitoring the situation."
